A Piece Of Big Box History

Knob Hill Farms, the giant super-store supermarket chain in the GTA began in 1951, and was particularly popular in the 80’s and early 90’s.

Unable to compete against large Costcos and Loblaws, the big-box grocery store’s reign gradually declined, and in the summer of 2000 it was announced that all nine stores would close.

We still have a couple of the black plastic Knob Hill Farms ‘shopping baskets’, now re-purposed as laundry baskets.
